General Information 

This position reports to the Director, Internal Audit and SOX Compliance and is responsible for working with the Internal Audit management team to coordinate and schedule audits, tracking internal audit follow up actions, editing audit reports, maintaining audit templates, preparing quarterly audit committee reporting and performing quality assurance reviews.  This position will also complete audits as time allows.   



  • Maintain the Internal Audit Schedule / Audit Plan Progress Tracking tool:
  • Coordinate scheduling of internal audits and team members (given availability of internal audits and auditees), including the escalation and resolution of scheduling conflicts;
  • Obtain regular updates from internal audit team members;
  • Centralized coordination and responsibility for gathering and updating quarterly management remediation action status and prepare reporting for the Audit Committee;
  • Edit one-off / annual documents such as requests for proposals, Internal Audit Charter, Annual Internal Audit Plan;
  • Edit on-going internal audit reports;
  • Assist Director, Internal Audit with periodic reporting to executives on audits, schedule, past due audit recommendations and other ad-hoc communications;
  • Assist in the creation of internal audit presentation materials;
  • Update Audit Committee charter, Internal Audit Manual and departmental policy / standards;
  • Keep apprised of IIA standard changes and incorporate into department standards;
  • Validate Quality Assurance Review checklist on Internal Audit files;
  • Participate in the conduct of internal audits (planning, execution, reporting writing, file documentation);
  • Continuous learning / development in area of Internal Audit; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Fluency in Spanish would be considered an asset.


Education/ Experience

  • University Degree or College Diploma in business or related field (required);
  • Minimum four years of related experience;
  • Project Coordination / Management experience and / or accounting designation;
  • Business writing and editing, English language proficiency;
  • Knowledge of IIA Standards;
  • Oil, gas and/or power industry experience strongly preferred;
  • Working knowledge of Teammate +; and
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as the ability to utilize SAP in an audit environment.
