Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit and Investigations, this position will be responsible for conducting investigations into activities which would include fraud, misconduct, or other improper or illegal activities that contravene laws, regulations or the Company’s Code of Business Ethics.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct confidential investigations involving issues ranging from routine questions on ethics to more sensitive and complex investigations of improper or illegal activities;
  • Identify instances of policy contravention;
  • Conduct interviews, gather and assess evidence and write reports of findings;
  • Prepare closing reports for management covering investigative details and results;
  • Work with legal counsel and Human Resources towards a recommended action in response to allegations;
  • Perform internal audit work, both individually and as part of an audit team, and
  • Other tasks as required.

     

Qualifications

  • Proven reputation for integrity and good judgement regarding business ethics;
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients;
  • Proven oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple and competing priorities under tight deadlines;
  • Working knowledge of IT applications, systems, security controls;
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as the ability to utilize SAP.

 

Education/Experience

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related discpline is required;
  • Completion of MBA program is an asset;
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of related work experience;
  • Experience in performing corporate, forensic and/or fraud investigations, internal audit, as well as professional certification (CFE, CIA, CA, CPA, CISA, or equivalent) is preferred;
  • Experience with investigative practices and methods;
  • Familiarity and experience with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance is preferred;
  • Oil, gas and/or power industry experience is preferred; and
  • Spanish language skill is an asset.

 

*This position will require travel across borders (US, Canada and Mexico) and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this effect.
