Reporting to the Manager, US Gas Project Management In-Line Inspection, the Project Coordinator supports the execution of TransCanada’s US Gas Operations pipeline, facility maintenance and integrity programs.  This position will provide overall field coordination and planning to safely facilitate implementation of ILI (smart pigging), maintenance pigging and chemical cleaning programs.  Extensive communication and coordination with Regional Operations, Gas Control, Pipe Integrity, Operations Planning, Commercial Operations and Engineering will be critical to be successful for this position.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures;
  • Field implementation of ILI program and coordination of all field activities;
  • Liaison with Regional Operations, Gas Control, Pipe Integrity, Operations Planning, Commercial Operations, FWP’s, Land, Engineering and other Stakeholders as required;
  • Supervise and coordinate third party contractors in the field;
  • Day to day scheduling and coordination with regions;
  • Undertakes technical analyses to prepare recommendations for actions;
  • Preliminary facility inspections to support program design and implementation (e.g:launcher/receiver installations, project scoping);
  • Daily cost tracking and resource scheduling;
  • Documentation and daily reporting;
  • Assist in procedure development and contingency plan development;
  • Identify and implement training requirements for ILI coordination;
  • Other tasks as required.

 

Qualifications and Education

Qualifications

  • Safety skills and attitude;
  • Must be punctual and detail oriented;
  • Project coordination and leadership skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering required;
  • Progressive Operations experience and working experience in Pipeline design and/or construction preferred;
  • Gas handling and survey experience as well as solid level of computer literacy would be considered an asset.

  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record;
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing;
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.
