General Information

 

Reporting to Project Controls Manager, the Lead Project Scheduler is responsible for establishing and maintaining standardization in project execution across matrix Project Schedulers.  The Lead Project Scheduler will drive consistency in process, through a combination of training and competency, across the matrix organization in accordance with Customer, Company and Regulatory requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Continually evaluate core responsibilities of matrix Project Schedulers to ensure fit for purpose;
  • Develop procedures, work instructions and other job aids critical to project execution;
  • Develop training content to support the continual development of matrix Project Schedulers;
  • Facilitate and lead routine meetings with matrix Project Schedulers to share critical information;
  • Act as Change Agent for all new and/or upgrades to scheduling software;
  • Communicate regularly with members of Management to share critical information and collect feedback;
  • Identify, resolve and report performance issues to Management;
  • Partner with Technical Center of Excellence, Corporate Services and other functional groups to develop competency criteria;
  • Perform routine competency evaluations;
  • Partner with Technical Center of Excellence, Corporate Services and other functional groups to develop tools that link progress measurement, cost, schedule and risk;
  • Identify financial and non-financial KPIs that offer additional value to matrix organization;
  • Partner with Technical Center of Excellence to improve approach, methodology and reporting of schedule risk(s) analysis;
  • Communicate training and/or process gap issues related to schedule and schedule risk modeling to the Technical Center of Excellence and other members of management;
  • Identify deviations from established requirements and act as Non-Conformance Report (NCR) Coordinator to ensure NCRs are promptly investigated, mitigated and closed;
  • Partner with Quality Team and other Project Support Team leads to conduct self-assessments;
  • Participate in Assurance Reviews as a Subject Matter Expert;
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and document as lessons learned;
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the company’s Project Management tools and processes;
  • Maintain a high level of focus on Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE).

  • Knowledge of FERC process strongly preferred;

  • Ability to work well with all levels of the Company and contract personnel to facilitate the accomplishment of objectives;
  • Other tasks as required.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Degree/technical degree required; Accounting, Business Management, Engineering or Project Management degree preferred;
  • Minimum10yrs of experience in Natural gas industry/construction experience preferred; understands construction life cycle; assists others in their understanding of these concerns
  • AACE certification and/or continuing education in scheduling preferred;
  • Advanced Primavera P6 user preferred; experience with project scheduling;
  • Proficiency in MS Project;
  • Extensive knowledge of budgeting, construction and maintenance practices and procedures preferred
