General Information

The Manager, US Payroll, Pension & Benefits Operations will provide guidance and oversight to the team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and effective administration of Pension and Benefits programs;

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and oversight to the team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and effective administration of Pension and Benefits programs;
  • Stay abreast of pending regulatory, tax, and other changes impacting US Payroll, Pension, and Benefits;
  • Provide analytical support and assist with development of presentations, reports, and metrics.
  • Manage third party administrators to ensure appropriate level of service and positive employee experience;
  • Collaborate with other HR leaders in the U.S. and Canada on various cross-functional projects or initiatives to improve efficiency and effective ness of current and/ or new processes;
  • Provide guidance and support to team members with regular annual projects such as plan audits, non-discrimination testing and regulatory filings;
  • Manage the preparation employee communications, including SPDs, employee booklets and website content;
  • Provide ongoing support to the U.S. Payroll, Pension and Benefits team and perform other pension and benefit administration;
  • Manage Salaried Non-Exempt team members;
  • Other tasks as required.

 

 

Qualifications and Education

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude;
  • Strong problem solving and prioritization skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, including attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills with strong proficiency in Excel.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Human Resources with focus on Payroll and Benefits;
  • Experience with SAP, is a plus;
  • Experience with Ceredian DayForce or similar payroll system would be an asset;
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar case management tool would be an asset.

 

 

*Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.

*This position will require travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this affect.
